NURSING CARE OF CANCER PATIENTS WITH HAEMATOPOIESIS DISORDER IN CONNECTION WITH ANTITUMOR CHEMOTHERAPY
BENEŠOVÁ, Petra
Abstract The aim of this thesis was to find the specifics of nursing care of cancer patients with haematopoiesis disorder in connection with antitumor chemotherapy and to map out the compliance with the specific measures for haematopoiesis disorder as a result of chemotherapy. We also focused on complications which emerged with administering chemotherapy, patient education about regime measures and on patient evaluation of the nurses' nursing care and their cooperation. Methodology and research file: to meet the target, a qualitative research was used in the form of semi-structured interview with the nurses and patients. The results of the interviews were analysed with the help of open coding with the pencil-paper method and subsequently divided into categories with subcategories. For nurses 3 categories with 4 subcategories were created and for patients 5 categories with 2 subcategories. The first research file consisted of twelve nurses working in oncology departments of five hospitals in the Czech Republic. The second research unit consisted of seven patients chosen with deliberate selection method. The results: It was found that the nurse in the care of cancer patients with haematopoiesis disorder works as a provider of barrier nursing care. The nurse takes the role of an educator during the application of chemotherapy and during the discharge of the patient into home healthcare, when she informs the patient about the need to comply with the specific measures which are diet regime, limited contact only to immediate family, the unsuitability of visiting restaurants, specific habits and using respiratory protection. All of the patients agreed that they try to follow the recommended regime measures. Simultaneously, they evaluated the measures as limiting both in work and personal life. The results for practice: The result of this research can be a theme for creating a information brochure for cancer patients or a topic for an educational seminar for nurses discussing this issue.
Information Sources in Health Education of Patients with Civilization Diseases
DRSOVÁ, Lucie
This theses deal with the issue of information resources in health education in patients with civilisational diseases. The information sources play a key role in patient education. This is mainly because the nurse can influence the health literacy of individuals and society due to her educational competence. Currently, there are many forms of information sources, so the nurse can use them to effectively educate, then motivate and pass on information to the patient. The theoretical part describes examples of civilisation diseases, information sources and the principles of patient education that the nurse uses in her profession. The research part is implemented by a quantitative method using a questionnaire, which was anonymously filled out by 93 respondents. Goal of the bachelor's thesis is to determine the ways of using information sources in the education of patients with diseases of civilization, as well as the method they use. The last goal is to determine the theoretical knowledge of nurses to present information sources to patients. This research was carried out at different clinical clinics. The research survey shows that general nurses supplement education with information resources for patients with diseases of civilization. Furthermore, most nurses most often use printed documents in medical facilities as part of information sources. The last result examined that more than half of the nurses pay attention to the principles when supplementing education with information sources. The results of the analysis can serve as a basis for measure and therefore improving the correct use of information resources in the health education of patients with civilisational diseases.

Körblerová, Jana ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Maffei Svobodová, Ludmila (referee)
Tracheostomy is a mutilating procedure and It may be a source of physical, psychological and social trauma for the patient. An average of 170 permanent tracheostomies per year are performed in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part I focused on species, indications and complications of tracheostomy and tracheostomy cannulas. I also described a complex care of a patient with the permanent tracheostomy including education. I drew on information from the available materials of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the ČLS JEP, from guidelines of the Australian Agency for Clinical Innovation Chatswood and The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne. My other resources of information were BMC, EBSCO, ProQuest, Medline databases. In the case study, I described the nursing and educational process in the patient who underwent total laryngectomy surgery, from admission to dismiss. The case study includes an assessment of the patient's health status according to Majory Gordon's functional health model. I got all the information from an interview with a patient, from medical records, and from the provision of nursing care. Methods: The case study of the patient after the total laryngectomy surgery including the model of functional health, according to Majory Gordon. Aim of the...

Living donor kidney transplantation
Stöcklová, Lucie ; Heczková, Jana (advisor) ; Nejdlová, Tereza (referee)
Kidney transplantation is still the most succesful method of kidney failure treatment. Transplantations from living donors get ahead of transplantations from cadaveric donors due to better results. Transplantations from living donor can be planned and have less complications. Indisputable advantage is the possibility to perform transplantation before the onset of dialysis-premptively, which provides up to twice better patient survival compared to survival on dialysis. The empirical part is elaborated using the case study describing hospital stay of living kidney donors which describes the postoperative and specific nursing care of kidney transplant recipient. The aim of this thesis is to get to know nursing algorithms in the care of patients after kidney transplantation in intensive care unit and to give comprehensive review of kidney transplantation. keywords: Kidney transplantation - predialysis - living donor - nursing procedures - intensive care - care of kidney transplant recipient
Patients with Ulcerous Stomach Disease and Duodena and their Observance of the Regime Precautions
HESOUNOVÁ, Ilona
The topic of the Bachelor Thesis is "Patients with Ulcerous Stomach Disease and Duodena and their Observance of the Regime Precautions". In the Czech Republic the ulcerous stomach disease occurs with 3 to 10% of the population and it afflicts patients particularly in their active age. The theoretical part describes the disease history, its classification, aetiopathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnostics, compilation, treatment, regime precautions, patient´s education and the role of the nurse in the nursing process. The practical part deals with three aims which were set at the beginning of the research. The first aim was to find out if the patients with the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena observe the regime precautions. The second aim was focused on the role of the nurse in the education of patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena. The last aim supposed to use the research results and elaborate information material concerning the regime precautions for patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena. Four hypotheses were made. The first hypothesis presumed that patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena know the regime precautions. The second hypothesis claimed that patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena follow the regime precautions. The third hypothesis said that patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena are aware of the importance of following the regime precautions. The fourth hypothesis supposed that nurses play an important role in the educational process of patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena. There was used the quantitative method of the research inquiry. The chosen technique for data collecting was the anonymous questionnaire. The research set formed patients with the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena from the Internal Department of the Hospital in Písek, from a General Practitioner Surgery in Písek, from the Internal and Surgery Department of the Hospital in Strakonice, from the Gastroenterology Department of the Hospital in České Budějovice and from the Internal Outpatients´ Department of the Clinic in Milevsko. On the basis of the evaluation of the anonymous questionnaire the first, the second and the third hypothesis was not proved. On the other hand the fourth hypothesis was proved. On the basis of the research inquiry there was elaborated information material concerning the regime precautions of the patients suffering from the ulcerous stomach disease and duodena. This material can be an inspiration for the educational activity of nurses too.
